I've tried to look up any public documents that describe the intent of the IMO sinister and unnecessary Green Zone that has gone up in the US Capitol since the riot, and which is being defended by right-wing Democrats as "necessary for security." It's obvious to anyone who followed events in the city starting with the BLM demonstrations that the mere timely provision of riot police and National Lard--frustrated on purpose by a handful of Trump appointees and their collaborators in the Capitol Police--would have sufficed to disperse the crowd without any need to build a Kremlin.
The Republicans have decided to bitch about this, which is disingenuous, but so has the District government, which has a different axe to grind.
