Read on for more about the convention and how you can submit resolutions and bylaws/constitutional changes. Submissions start today and continue until Thursday, 4/1. In solidarity, Maria Svart DSA National Director ------------------------------ *We are six months away from our 2021 Convention*! At this year’s convention, we will be debating and voting on a political platform for DSA, a document that will affirm our politics to ourselves and to the rest of the world. We will also be electing a new National Political Committee (NPC) and engaging in debate around resolutions and bylaws changes. The convention will take place online over the course of a week, from Sunday 8/1-Sunday 8/8. We will have workshops, trainings, and self-organized sessions in the first half of the week, and debate, deliberation, and voting in the second. You can find the full Pre-Convention and Convention rules here. <https://act.dsausa.org/go/107616?t=2&akid=49699%2E17667%2Ek04Z0J> *Resolutions and Bylaws and Constitutional Changes* As in years past, members in good standing are invited to submit resolutions <https://act.dsausa.org/go/107617?t=3&akid=49699%2E17667%2Ek04Z0J> and bylaws/constitutional changes <https://act.dsausa.org/go/107618?t=4&akid=49699%2E17667%2Ek04Z0J> to the convention. The submissions period opens today, Monday 2/22, and will close on Thursday, 4/1. Resolutions and bylaws/constitutional changes will require 100 signatures from members in good standing to reach the floor. *Platform* We will be sharing a first draft of the political platform alongside a survey for feedback by mid-March. We encourage you all to wait to submit resolutions until the draft platform is released, and to tie political resolutions to specific platform planks. The current platform planks are: Decarceration, Economic Reform, Ecosocialism, Gender and Sexuality Justice, Healthcare, Housing, Immigration, Internationalism, Labor, Political Reform, Racial Justice, and Socialist Feminism. We recommend chapters host discussions about the platform, and we will be sending out a guide and sample agenda for how to do so. *Pre-Convention Conferences* This year we will be hosting five pre-convention conferences on Saturday 5/15, Saturday 5/22, Saturday 6/5, Saturday 6/12, and Saturday 6/26. Members who are planning to run for delegate are encouraged to attend. We will be sending out an agenda, programming, and registration information for these conferences no later than early April.
