First, I would place the word “create” with "build.” Create is open to many
interpretations and might accommodate illusions about how easy it will be.
Build is more suggestive of all the work involved. And, I have always believed
that a thousand small gestures and acts of unity are better than a grand
declaration of repentance over our past sectarian approach.
Below are two organizations I have probably mentioned before. Others on this
list will be better able to discuss them. I think they have in common that as
they brought together disparate groups, they did not demand that those
organizations wholly submerge themselves in the new formation. They were
content to let that happen over a longer period of time.
