(and I'll admit to not clicking on every posting of content posted by Louis from elsewhere --- but often I have been rewarded when I have ---- so at least SOME of us on the list see value in those postings ....) and I will admit to feeling bothered by any attempt to turn transexual identification into some anti-revolutionary strategy --- that seems (to this non-expert) a ridiculous "stretch" --- It fits with efforts that existed back in the 20th century to see ALL efforts at developing the idea that there is a "black American nation" within the continental US as contra the class struggle (same complaint was made about second wave feminism). I think that privileging of class over all categories was a-historical given that the REASON for there being no mass class conscious working class parties in the US (unlike Europe) was the persistence of racism in the DNA of the US. (I have just read CASTE by Isabel WIlkerson and was very persuaded that that concept best describes the class structure of the US!)
