I never read Tempest before,but the articles about Biden and the Democratic 
Party on the site are very enlightening. There is a misconception on the part 
of many on the left, that the DSA works in lockstep behind the idea of "moving 
the party to the left".

Would anybody care to tell me why there are not groups within the DSA working 
to run in, and build existing socialist parties? I read articles like this one, 
but I don't really see an answer to this question.

It would seem to me that running as a candidate within the established 
structure of an existing socialist party would be easier than starting a 
campaign from scratch as an independent candidate.
