Here is a link to the review that so offended Isaiah Berlin. In that piece, 
Deutscher responded to a lecture given by the philosopher Isaiah Berlin (which 
was published in his book, *Historical Inevitability* , where Berlin had 
strongly affirmed belief in free will, insisting that free will is something 
that historians must take account of. Deutscher responded with an arousing 
affirmation of determinism in his review. Deutscher, like his friend, E. H. 
Carr, disagreed with that position.
