I get Comrade Ginsberg's sarcasm. The just below is that sarcasm incarnated: Regarding the RCP, Refuse and Resist, The World Can't Wait, Revolutionary Union, (all metamorphoses of Bob Avakian) I was involved in a coalition (I can't remember what it was for but it was not the Mumia co which was about at the same time 1990s). The coalition met in the Chicano part of LA and there was this young Chicano woman, who was in RCP, who made it a habit to bring up Avakian's name whatever the topic. She called herself 'Edith' which was not her birth name. Now, I have no problem whatsoever about people redesignating their given names. I did so myself in 1967. I spoke with a comrade about her and he said that the RCP was in a practice of changing their supporters' names and even approving their relationships. I didn't and don't know or care enough about them to vouch for what was told to me. My only previous experience with them (other than later the Mumia coalition) was at UCLA when myself and several comrades tried but failed to halt violence between the RU and the PLP in 1975 at Pauley Pavillion ( https://michaelletwin.wordpress.com/1975/04/24/1975-04-24-l-a-demo-hits-dayan-workers-power/ ) when Moshe Dayan was speaking. (See 8th paragraph in linked article cited,) My only thought about them, both of them, at that time was "Wow. These mfers giving communism a bad name." Back to 'Edith'. She once again quoted Avakian, kinda like but totally unlike what I do with Marx (who I cite as evidence for or against my positions but not as a Mosaic commandment ( http://www.duhaime.org/LegalDictionary/M/MosaicLaw.aspx ) handed down (sic on the 'down'). So I asked her why she was taking that position to which she replied "Because our leader said it was so." "Well..." I said (no question) "what if he's wrong." Boing! Cognitive dissonance.
