I never posted hundreds of anything. And what I did post was around two things: The first that I believed having the protests then to turn into an insurrection - would only lead to much bloodshed and failure. Sadly, I was correct. And the other major concern I pointed out several times, was that the rebel forces had become mainly reactionary religious fanatics using the uprising. You were irritated about my stating that. And that has been also sadly proven correct. i always stated clearly, that I was no fan of either the current Syria leader Bashar al Assad, or his father Hafez al Assad - both were not socialists - just dictators. Are the Syrian people better off because of this uprising, much promoted by religious right wingers? What has been won - and who has benefited - not the Syrian Left. There is no question from what has occurred, that Basar al Assad, was willing to murder and destroy much of Syria for only himself to stay in power. It was not to advance anything on the left. And I understood that and you thought something else was going to occur? Relationship of forces must be taken into account - and you saw (and still do?) a revolutionary left in Syria, that was not there. Now the suffering has reached greater levels in Syria and Putin might want Bashar al Assad to leave in favor of a Syria puppet regime, that can be "more popular" - but would be no different of a ruling clique and a exploited masses of laborers. I remain saddened by this conflict, because of the harm and results. And much by outside governments carrying out a proxy war for their influence and position, I take no joy and just have anguish for Syrian friends seeing their homeland devastated. You misjudged. Go back and read my posts - I was never for the Tehran government, or the Putin government - or the Israel or U. S. government interests - and I stated so. I had been and remain opposed to reactionary religious fanatics. And yes my being a Gay man, has me hold that view. And because of being a Gay activist, I am in contact with many people in many nations and not tied to any political current. I am not into the cult of the individual and of the knee jerk "anti-imperialists". who are seeking a replacement for the former stalinist Soviet Union regime - and believe Putin somehow represents that? Corrupt dictators are not new. What might seem new are the stalinists acting as areligious cult, seeking a "strong leader" to follow and support. But if you look carefully, it is the same thinking for the stalinists for decades, justifying their obedience and non-criticizing the former stalinist leaders - just as the religious cult groups.
