It's interesting this article ignores the rigging of the primaries against Bernie by the Democratic Party establishment, first by DWS, and others associated with Hillary Clinton, in 2016, then by Obama after Nevada, during the 2020 cycle. Many of us on the left question whether Bernie really did want to win, or as Glenn Ford at Black Agenda Report ,and others foretold back in 2015, that Bernie was merely a sheepdog candidate. Bernie was certainly not up to the task of leading a "revolutionary movement" ,even one inside the political establishment, in the vein of a George McGovern, a Eugene McCarthy, or a Bobby Kennedy. So many years of being a back-bencher in Congress squoze whatever revolutionary spirit Bernie had right out of him. If you watch those grainy VHS tapes uploaded to the web of Bernie as mayor in the 80s, it's like you're watching a different guy than the one who would endorse Clinton and Biden all those years later.
The article also ignores the obtacle of the serious degree of sectarianism that so fractures the left in this country. AOC, and others in "The Squad" prove they can become corrupted by the system, and will move to the center not long after being elected. I believe AOC is a climber within the Democratic Party establishment, and has her eye on a Senate seat, or maybe the speakership, so don't expect her to rock the boat.
