Curtis is a more conservative and slightly more coherent Michael Moore. His POWER OF NIGHTMARES is insightful in some sections but utterly ridiculous in others. His linking of neoconservativism with Islamist politics fundamentally evades the larger structural issues of political economy (namely, that both were developed in order to hinder secularists social solidarities in their respective societies), reducing everything to a set of spooky coincidences and common occurrences that superficially seem relevant, if not linked, but which in reality are just matters of crafty editing. Oliver Stone has been more coherent than this at certain points in his career.
