This week I picked up a publication, Veterans News https://veteransnews.ca/ at my local Legion. It does not appear to be a publication of the Canadian Legion. I found a fragment of anti-German propaganda from WWII. In motivating his country for the fight Churchill preferred to appeal to anti-German prejudice, as opposed to educating about the origins of fascism. ken h
This passage is taken from the story of Bob Riopel who was in the Canadian armed forces in Germany 1967 - 69. He is in dispute with his landlord. '…Rip discovered the key to dealing with most Germans. He yelled right back at Otto and completely dominated him. He got his fridge and graciously offered to pay for half of it and leave it when he moved out. …. From that point on Rip could do not wrong.
