I have few objections to rioters looting...so long as its being done to corporate entities. But to date few rioters have shown that discretion, have shown class consciousness. The closest thing I have seen to that was Watts 1965 when stores that displayed signs noting "Soul Brother" or "Black Owned" ( https://oac.cdlib.org/view?docId=kt787005gm&chunk.id=d0e307&brand=oac4&doc.view=entire_text ) to a great extent were bypassed by the crowd (though there were personal exceptions to this:
"...especially at the early stages of the riot, white-owned stores were burned and looted and Negro-owned stores were left untouched. There was some publicity given by the press to the signs that were painted on store windows, such as "blood brothers," "Negro," "Negro owned," "soul brother," etc. But at the early stages of the riots these signs were not widely used and were generally unnecessary—people knew what was what.
