He apparently leaves out from his list of 20th century genocides the
removal of the Chechens, Ingush, Crimean Tatars and several other small Soviet
nationalities from their homelands by the Soviet government of that time. This
prevents a thorough discussion of his topic of "the political economy of
genocide in
our time", as it prevents consideration of the political economy behind those
genocides.
