"The New York Times must publicly recognize its errors" Hi. Here is another of its so-called errors -
New York Times, Feb 22, 2024 "The U S examined allegations of cartel ties to allies of Mexico's president, but the United States never opened a formal investigation into Mr Lopez Obredor, and the officials involved ultimately shelved the enquiry. They concluded that the U S government had little appetite to pursue allegations against one of America's top allies, said the three people familiar with the case who were not authorized to speak publicly... "Much of the information collected by U S officials came from informants whose accounts can be difficult to corroborate and sometimes end up being incorrect...It was not clear how much of what the informants told them was independently confirmed." But that didn't stop the newspaper of record from printing it anyway. Ha! The following day at his morning scrum with reporters, AMLO denounced the NYT as a "filthy rag" and put on the overhead an email from the Mexico City bureau chief who wrote the article. She wanted his denial before going to press. It contained her phone number and disclosing it pissed her off, apparently. Later, AMLO said that Mexicans have a problem with being slandered by arrogant Americans with ultimatums, and if she was so worried about her safety she should change her number. The article comes at the start of the presidential election campaign. Coincidencia?
