I think Rassemblement National has hit its peak vote, and it will be very hard for it to grow past this point, whereas the Noveau Front Populaire can grow at the expense of both Ensemble and RN. Macron has not just a tactical problem, but a strategic problem, neither of which will be easy for him to solve. He might try to coopt any of the four parties in the NFP, but he could also try for cohabitation as happened three times in the late 20th century. In any case, the next government is likely to be unstable, and unable to address any of the issues facing the country. The movement that went to the streets to stop Le Pen will stay in the streets or return shortly to the streets. The next elections will probably not be too far away. Can the NFP survive? In what form? and if it does not, what will come out of it?
