I just want to add one thing. According to the evidence presented by those who
claim that China is not capitalist, or they are on their own unprecedented road
to socialism, like the share of state owned enterprises in the GDP or the
percentage of the workforce employed by the state, etc. Russia is, right now,
at least 1.5 times more socialist than China. Of course, nobody in his right
mind propagates that level of nonsense because, unlike China, Russian
imperialism does not bother investing to misrepresent its own economic
structure. The Chinese bourgeois-bureaucratic ruling class, however, plays a
remarkably active role in financing to conceal the class character of a
gigantic factory that churns out commodities (the basic unit of capitalism) in
massive quantities. It is not a bit surprising, thus, to encounter frequently
somebody waxing lyrical about the Chinese socialism.

Further reading: A debate between Chris Harman and Ernest Mandel. You might
assume that I support Harman in this debate, but I think he was wrong about
classifying Soviet Russia as capitalist, because the profit motive was not the
main catalyst of Soviet investments.
