Hi Cmde John: So I definitely get where you are coming from. But in this instance, the British police are being instructed by the Labour Party (it seems anyway!) to clamp down on fascists. Not on "civilians". If you look at the videos I suggested to watch at the Guardian web-site ( Aug 3 #31450 https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/live/2024/aug/03/sunderland-riot-police-southport-stabbings-protests-far-right ) I think that is shown.
So aren't the issues not just the fact of being a police individual - but who controls the police and what they are instructed to do? Obviously communists do not expect that to be usually in favour of working class communities. But rarely they may be - No? Was not the "apparent" police minor resistance against the January 6th Capitol Trumpist ne-er-gooders, actually a slightly progressive action? My understanding from when I last looked at this issue, is that for example Black communities wanted a police presence just not a *racist* set of actions against the members of the communitites.
