Suzanne de Brunhoff (Marx on Money (New York: Urizen Books, 1973)) says (p. 40) that the “regulatory function of hoarding can be fulfilled not only by gold but by every kind of currency.” The footnoted reference (p. 132, n. 48) is to “Karl Marx, A Contribution to the Critique of Political Economy (New York: New World Paperbacks), p. 126 (cf. de Brunhoff, p. 131, n. 6). I don’t have this edition of the Critique, nor can I locate it (or an edition with similar pagination). Can anyone point me textually to what she might have been referring to? Thanks, Ed
