There seems to be some degree of support here on this list for the Cornel West campaign for president. People should do their "due diligence", AKA a little bit of research.
First of all, Cornel West's "Justice for all Party" is not a political party. He invented it purely to facilitate getting on the ballot since in many states it is much easier to do so as the representative of a party than as an individual. The "party" has no structure and no function other than to put him and his running mate, Melina Abdullah, on the ballot. In Colorado <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornel_West_2024_presidential_campaign>, where he's on the ballot, it doesn't even exist on paper since the "United for America" party, which has ballot access, put him on the ballot. West has absolutely no history whatsoever of building or participating in any protest movement or left organization. In a number of key states, his campaign relied on Republican operatives to get on the ballot. That's true in North Carolina according to reports from NBC News <https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/paid-operatives-gop-firm-helping-cornel-west-arizona-ballot-rcna159675> , USA Today <https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/08/14/cornel-west-boosted-by-trump-allies-wisconsin-ballot/74772257007/>, and Move on <https://front.moveon.org/cornel-west-caught-again-relying-on-republican-operatives-to-get-on-the-ballot-this-time-in-arizona/>. In fact, according to this report from NBC news <https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/operatives-gop-ties-are-helping-cornel-west-get-ballot-key-state-rcna153110>, signature gatherers relied on Republicans to sign the ballot petition. It is no accident that the Republicans have been particularly active putting him on the ballot in North Carolina and Arizona - two key swing states. The same is true in Wisconsin <https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/08/14/cornel-west-boosted-by-trump-allies-wisconsin-ballot/74772257007/>, which is not exactly a swing state but is not in the bag for the Democrats either. This is entirely in keeping with West's politics, since he is a supporter of Ron DeSantis's education "reforms", as his op-ed <https://www.wsj.com/articles/desantiss-revolutionary-defense-of-the-classics-florida-western-canon-galileo-caesar-great-books-275268d9> in the Wall St. Journal and his sitting on the board of directors <https://www.cltexam.com/about/leadership/> of the right wing, Christian education proponent Classic Learning Test show. I believe that if Trump gets elected, West will land on his feet, given those connections and given the fact that he is perpetually in debt. Finally, West apologizes for Russia's imperialist invasion of Ukraine and has nothing to say about the war crimes Russia is committing there. Of course, that shouldn't be a problem for some on this list who make the same apology. Those who think they are Marxists should do a little bit of research, rather than just falling for the superficial rhetoric and giving some degree of support for West.
