We all know that Harris needs to move on Gaza. She needs to come out for the security of Israel while advocating for the return of hostages and a complete ceasefire (almost everyone wants this anyway). That will get her the campaign cash. She then, as the election approaches, needs to put strings on any money the US plans to spend on Israel: a total withdrawal of ADF troops from Gaza, the return of all American hostages, the resignation of Hamas and Netanyahu and the reconstruction of Gaza using Israeli money. Of course, no money will be spent because Netanyahu will never meet those criteria. The problem with Gaza is really about US money being spent on arms for Israel, but we cannot stop giving money away without hurting American jobs with the arms manufacturers. Switching instead to more weapons for Ukraine would be a much better investment and in a country that respects us. It would also keep the arms manufacturers off Congress’s back. The Israelis have zero respect for Americans and the sacrifices we have made for them. It’s time to show we mean business.
