Nevertheless, it is a warning to those of us who are fighting fascism in
Germany, an particularly in Saxony and Thuringia, that a fascist party
as managed to consolidate itself in what was in the Weimar Republic the
Communist heartland of Germany. In Thuringia they are now the largest
single party and in Saxony the have also gathered more the 30% of the
votes cast, and in both they are particularly strong among young voters.
There have been hints af this before bit this is a worrying new trend.
So there is no reason to suggest the is no threat!
In both state about one in four registered voters failed to vote.
