It’s the buddy comedy nobody askedfor.

The neoliberal political chattering class isgushing over Kamala Harris’ latest
endorsement – the notorious andunrepentant war criminal, Dick Cheney.
Let’s refresh everyone on who Dick Cheneyreally is.
Dick Cheney was the architect of theWMD lie that launched the Iraq war, leading
to the deaths of millions of Iraqis, thousands of ourown troops and civilian
support staff, and handing a multibilliondollar no-bid contract to his former
company,Halliburton-KBR.
Dick Cheney spearheaded theuse of torture as official US policy, coordinating
the infamous “torture memo” by leaning on theOffice of Legal Counsel and
squashing dissent within theadministration. When evidence surfaced of US
troopstorturing Iraqis at the Abu Ghraib prisoncamp – reports that bear
astartling resemblance to the conduct at Israel’s Sde Tieman prisontoday –
Cheney went on a media blitz defending all of it as “enhancedinterrogation
techniques.”
Dick Cheney drove thedecision to convert the US Naval base in Guantanamo Bay
into aprison for nearly 800 men helabeled as “enemy combatants” – a legal term
designed to dodgeaccountability for treatment of prisoners of war under the
Genevaconvention. Of the 780 men they detained, only 12 have ever led toformal
charges and prosecution, and even fewer convicted. At least 9have died in
custody after enduring years of physical andpsychological torture. There are
still 31 menincarcerated at GITMO today –remaining in custody under both
Republican and Democraticadministrations.
DickCheney was also the principal actor behind the practice ofmass surveillance
of US citizens and the use of dronestrikes – both of whichvastly expanded under
Barack Obama’s administration. He also tried topush us into war with Iran (and
mercifullyfailed).
The full listof Dick Cheney’s crimes is too long for this email. Yet Kamala
Harrisis honored to have his endorsement as well as the endorsement of
hisdaughter, Liz Cheney – calling them both “leaders who arewell-respected.”

This “well-respected leader” dissolved theentire Middle East into chaos,
politically destabilized multiplecountries leading to mass deaths in Iraq,
Syria, Yemen and beyondwhile turning millions more into refugees.
Naturally, Cheney feels right at home withthe administration that is arming the
genocide in Gaza, relentlesslystoking nuclear war with Russa, China and Iran,
and changing theirparty’s platform to remove opposition totorture.
This endorsement is not an honor – it’sa warning bell.
I’mproud to say that zero war criminals have endorsed our campaignand none
would be welcome in our coalition. Will you help make certain that every
American has theopportunity to vote for the only anti-war, anti-genocide,
pro-worker,pro-planet candidate on the ballot?

There is nothing more unifying to Democratsand Republicans than war.
Conservatives like Cheney are dumping Trumpand embracing Harris because they
can’t control amalignant self-serving narcissist like DonaldTrump.
But they cancount on Democrats to fund their favorite wars and cheer on a
genocidecommitted with American bombs.
The two major parties have become fused into a single beast thatserves Wall
Street and warmongers.
It’s time the rest of us united behind theparty that serves humanity. Please
