Sadly, socialists in the global north have had little to say about Mpox and other plagues now spreading in central and southern Africa, so we were pleased to see this article on the UK "In Defense of Marxism" website. It provides a useful overview of the Mpox crisis, and a strong critique of the capitalist drug monopolies, but is weak on solutions — simplistic calls for “communism” won’t save any lives. We need to focus more attention on concrete demands and struggles for health justice: as always, C&C welcomes your comments and contributions.
