The trend of leftists who refuse to choose between Harris and Trump can harbor political idiots. Specifically, a broadcast email today from the People's Forum has this item:
"After months of nationwide member polling and interviews with major candidates, Teamsters decline to endorse Harris or Trump. After extensive polling and interviews, the Teamsters international union chose not to endorse any major presidential candidate due to insufficient commitments from either Trump or Harris on important union issues. Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien stressed the importance of candidates prioritizing workers' interests over Big Business and honoring the right to strike, noting that neither candidate met these criteria." Not a mention of the fact that O'Brien spoke at the MAGA GOP convention. Not a hint that his no-endorsement statement amounts to undeclared capitulation to Trump. A big chunk of the union membership apparently intends to vote for Trump. If you really want to counter that, you can't far by arguing with them that you must vote for Harris. You'd need to agitate for working-class power, socialist revolution, and as a corollary, no presidential vote this year. Of course, the Teamster officials will not do that. Their abstention stand is really just an attempt to preserve bargaining clout for the 2028 election. People's Forum is probably not as stupid as their stand-offish email item is by itself.
