If you reread my comment, Artesian, you will see that I don't believe there is a formula/blueprint/cookbook which can spark a revival of the mass movement. The reverse is true - that “unless and until” there is a revival of working class political consciousness and combativity, it doesn’t much matter what issue or issues you promote inside or outside the liberal bourgeois parties because they will largely fall on deaf ears, especially when introduced by an isolated Marxist left drawing on programs developed when it was a significant tendency in a militant workers' movement on the rise. If we should see a revival of that kind of movement, I expect it will generate its own demands and leadership which organic and middle class socialist intellectuals will then again be in a position to further develop.
