Well, the KCTU - the largest trade union federation in the country - is calling for an indefinite general strike to bring down Yoon. This is not a "waste", this is a demand of the masses.

Calling for a general strike is not necessarily a call for revolution. Those who have experience with general strikes know this. Think about France, Argentina, etc.

From the article:

Yes, we need an indefinite general strike to bring down Yoon as
the KCTU calls for. However, such a strike must not be
bureaucratically organised by the union leaders but mobilised and
controlled by committees of action of the workers and people in
workplaces and neighbourhoods. Public life must be brought to
standstill in order to overthrow the wannabe dictator.

Calling for a general strike is like calling for a revolution--- its possibility much less its success depends on the 1) the  historic moment and 2) most importantly, the level of the organization of the working class parties to execute. You don't call for a general strike as a "demand,"  you program the general strike.  Calling for a general strike after the parliament has already nullified the martial law is a waste. Factory committees and the like with the ability to focus the unrest on class structure are the necessary, though not sufficient pre-condition.
