The richest 1% of Mexicans owns 47.9% of all wealth, while the poorest 50% of Mexican have negative 0.3% of wealth, meaning their debts outweigh their small belongings. So Mexico is a very unequal society, with billionaires like Carlos Slim existing with 36% who live in poverty. So who runs Mexico, and where does Sheinbaum fit in? Does Mexican Humanism contest the rule of Mexican capitalists or somehow work in tandem with them? Whose interests drive policy?
