I don't follow. Their programs (since discarded) said they would take over the 
means of production gradually but they limited themselves in government to 
improving social benefits, union and other democratic rights, and regulating 
the economy. I don't believe socialism can be introduced gradually and 
nonviolently in bourgeois democracies and history has confirmed it. In fact, 
since the neo liberal turn, they've often presided over rollbacks.
