One thing that makes the "Forward" article interesting is that it's written from a perspective that believes that the original project was a noble one, but still addresses the very real threat Israel faces from a potential mass abandonment of the state. Not all those 25% will actually leave of course, but it is symptomatic of a serious decline in morale when a quarter of a country's population no longer believe their country is worth standing up for. And Israelis are one group thast generally finds emigration easier - many hold dual citizenship.
