Remember that the Great Struggle for Civil Rights--culminating in the passing of the 1965 voters rights bill, as well as the struggles for integration of education, transportation and social gathering places (e.g. restaurants, etc)--were *led by* and *suffered by*, in the main, by members of the black churches. We *cannot win* without the members of our community and the members of our community are by and large members of the faiths. Comrades, I don't give a fck where you stand on the unprovable and undisprovable notion of God, that question has nothing to do with the present Great Struggle for the Human Rights of All. Debates on the existence and/or the non-existence God is philosophy. What is needed is a consciousness that turns on the question of practicality. And without the support and activity of the religious portion of the working class, we *will not win.* We must demand that the religious institutions take up again a pole position on the question of humanness and humanity.
