At least from the vantage point of the German/Polish/Lithuanian/Scandinavian countries. What I see in in Germany is the incredible slowness and reluctance of the bourgeoisie to re-tool for the coming inter-imperialist war phase; and a period where they are over-coming the still potent old social-democratic lean towards Russia (was before of course a lean to the old Soviet social imperialists after 1953). It is quite true that the faltering - we could say declining - auto export trade capitalists have seized the moment to re-tool their factories for arms. And naturally first the Schulz Govt, and now the Merz Govt have/are radically assisting that. But their overall denial of reality and the harshness this requires (really clamping down on their working class - it is however slowly and increasingly happening); and the still burnign resentment against French rivalry; and the on-going internal EU dog-fights - leaves them apparently floundering. Especially as they chase down the trials that Trump and Vance lay down for them. A small aside, when Howard Lutnick USA Sec Commerce rudely told the EU leaders at Davos - that they could not get beyond their EU habit of striking a new committee everytime they had an issue - he was right. The capitalists of the EU have still so many internal fights that they are finding it hard to get thier act together. But they are being forced to do so. One query about that scenario - wither the Brits? Still the back-end of a Europe that the USA can enter? Likely - yes.
