I'll go you one further. After working, at first for Dr Jerry Buss' LA Kings hockey team and then his LA Lakers throughout the entire 1980's and going to some 250 hockey and 250 basketball games, my favorite sport--one that I don't miss 'my' teams playing (SCarolina, LSU and (my) UCLA Bruins--is women's college basketball. I hate UConn's Geno whatever-the fck--as much as I hated Duke's Mike Kryshevski's (sp? Never took the time to learn the proper spelling of the two jerk's names) Blue Devils.
Example? I went to Quebec City for the 1986 'Rendevous' games with the NHL playing the Soviets (really the Central Red Army team with the KLM line ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KLM_Line )) when the CCCP Red Army Choir sang the Soviet National Anthem ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U06jlgpMtQs )--as stirring as the Marsellaise)--that when played you could almost hear the Soviet tanks rolling over the steppes and kicking the German armies in their verboten asses. Didn't matter that by then their fake-assed 'Socialism in One Country' had exposed themselves to all but the so-called 'Communist Parties". So, yeah.
