The Iran War is a historic war. It will shape the future of Iran, the
Middle East, of the relationships between the Great Powers, between the
NATO states as well as the future of the Trump presidency. It is a war
which the RCIT and all authentic socialists consider as a reactionary
war of aggression by U.S. and Israeli imperialism but as a just war of
national defence of Iran. Hence, we unequivocally stand for the defeat
of the American-Zionist monster and for the military victory of Iran
without lending political support for the reactionary Mullah regime.
Unfortunately, many self-proclaimed socialists fail the test of this
historic war. This is also true for the camp of Stalinism and populism.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation of Gennady Zyuganov is a
particularly obscene example. In a statement titled “/Let us stand
together against aggression and war!/” it denounces the US/Israeli
attack and commits itself to “/strongly uphold the right to independent
development of Russia, China, the DPRK and all countries of the world./”
While the KPRF claims to oppose “/aggression and war/”, it has supported
Putin’s invasion of Ukraine since the very first day and advocates the
“patriotic” struggle for the “/Russian World/” and “/Slavic
brotherhood/”! In fact, these cynical “communists” are arch-defenders of
Russian imperialism with close relations to the Kremlin.
