Wilkerson was Colin Powell's Chief of Staff. When Bush/Cheney (or Cheney/Bush!) were calling for war against Iraq in 2002, international law required that either the US had to have been attacked by Iraq, or was the target of an imminent attack, or the UN Security Council would have to give permission. The first two conditions were obviously not met, so according to Wilkerson, the CIA drew up a speech for Powell about Saddam's possession of WMDs to deliver to the UN to get approval. According to Wilkerson, Powell read it and told him "this is bullshit!" - then went on to deliver a bullshit speech! The bastard had hopes of running for President after Bush and supporting this war was more important than the deaths of at least half a million Iraqis. Whenever someone praises the late Powell, let's always recall this sickening episode!
