"Napalm, by contrast, functioned with malevolent efficiency, and in the end
the incendiary gel would be the weapon of choice"

 Apocalypse Now (1979)
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: Smell what?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing else in the the world smells like that. I
love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill
bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find
one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline
smell? The whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war is going
to end.

Kilgore reflects on this for a moment then gets up and walks away. Captain
Willard stares at him in disbelief.
