A very good article. I would say that there was a class based opposition - the Occupy Wall Street movement which spread to over 100 cities. It was,eventually swept off the streets by police repression mainly ordered by Democratic mayors, and as we later learned, with the explicit encouragement of the Obama White House.
The Occupy experience, limited as it was, though its most ambitious sectors hoped to create a situation of dual power, showed the limits of protest to many, but made the vast inequality of today a central issue, and gave rise, and provided militants, to the two Sanders campaigns and the subsequent rise of the democratic socialists. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
