True enough. The ruling class typically changes its executive committee only when it is bad for business. The inflationary effect of the Vietnam war resulted in a run on the dollar which was then linked to gold and there was much social discontent and disorder which had spread into the working class and military as the body bags kept coming home. None of Trump's policies have had that effect. Business has complained about his tariff and immigration policies and is worried that he may be dragging the country into another quagmire in Iran, but there is as yet nothing comparable to the inflationary and destabilizing effects of the Vietnam war. The economy and stock markets have generally been good for the corporations and the wealthy during Trump's tenure. So while they fret about his erratic ineptness, they have made no serious move to oust him. This may also be because the most disgruntled among them - the liberal elite which generally favours the Democratic Party - believes the US electorate is about to do that job for them. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
