from CUNY Grad Center The CUNY Graduate Center community is deeply saddened by the loss of Professor Johanna Fernández, a groundbreaking historian and activist who transformed the understanding of Latino history through her scholarship on the Young Lords, the largely Puerto Rican radical group of the 1970s. She died on July 30. She was 55.
