The capitalist-bonapartist regime of Russia’s President Putin
experiences increasing difficulties ahead of the elections in September.
Despite sacrificing the lives of hundreds of thousands men and investing
gigantic material resources in 4 ½ years of devastating Ukraine War, the
Kremlin has still not achieved its minimum objective of fully conquering
the Donbass region. In the last 12 months it could hardly advance at the
frontline and occupy new territory. According to the Moscow-based Levada
Center, the share of Russians who believe the war is going well has hit
a record low. While 50% of respondents in July still said the invasion
was progressing successfully, that was down 19 percentage points from a
year earlier.
