*Ukraine: Solidarity with Maksym Shumakov!*
/Joint Statement by Spalakh (Ukrainian Section of RCIT) and the
Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT), 29 August 2026/
On July 30, 2026, Maksym Shumakov, an activist of the student trade
union Direct Action, was invited to the police station ostensibly to
"/process the return of confiscated equipment/," but on the spot he was
suspected of spreading communist symbols (Article 436-1 of the Criminal
Code of Ukraine).
