Someone's glass is half full.
My glass is still half empty because I think Hegseth is doing what he was put
there to do: He is there to do anything Trump tells him to do. Hegseth's purges
remove people deemed untrustworthy to a mission like putting troops on the
streets during the election or using them against protesters. There are not
enough federal police to put down a simultaneous uprising across the entire
country. They think the all-volunteer military can do the job. That's why we
should reach out to soldiers and military families like AT recommends for
postal workers.
That said, Trump has done great damage to US imperialism. Trump's form of
Bonapartism, "Patrimonial," is regressive in that he robs and destroys rather
than replaces. He offers reaction but no way forward for the reactionaries or
the capitalist classes.
