* We extend a historic invitation to you to join our global, online,
intergenerational event Towards a Nuclear-Weapon-Free World [1], on
September 25-26 to commemorate Nuclear Abolition Day. The event will
include:
* Nobel Peace Laureates &
* Special screenings of An Ordinary Insanity [2], the new
Oscar-nominated short film featuring renowned whistleblower Daniel
Ellsberg [3];
September 26 has been established by the United Nations General Assembly
(UNGA) as the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear
Weapons [4] (Nuclear Abolition Day).
On September 29, 2026, the President of the UNGA will convene a
high-level meeting commemorating the day, at which governments will
address the question: _How can we end the threat of nuclear war and
achieve the global abolition of nuclear weapons?_ Making progress on
these goals is imperative for the future of humanity.
An astonishing 2000 diverse organizations have endorsed our Nuclear
Abolition Day Appeal [5] that we will present to the UN and its Member
States in conjunction with the high-level meeting.
The event will be held in four sessions spread across the world's time
zones. You can join either one or two sessions suitable for/depending on
