PANEL AND TOWN HALL: PARTNERING WITH GENOCIDE GTA student campaigns to cut ties with Israeli apartheid, militarism, and genocide
Monday October 5th, 4-6 pm HNES 140, York University Israeli universities play a key role in upholding occupation and genocide in Palestine: serving as sites of military support programs, developing genocidal policies, supporting research into weapons technologies, partnering with weapons manufacturers, enabling police surveillance of Palestinians, manufacturing claims over Palestinian land, and normalizing Israel's actions through academic partnerships across the world. As of July 2026, York University lists partnerships with four Israeli universities: Tel Aviv University, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. As we launch a report detailing York University's partnerships with Israeli academic institutions, York and GTA student organizers are coming together for a conversation about their campaigns already in progress and to consider possibilities to build from in our own universities.
