*Europe: A New Wave of Youth Struggles Amidst a Period of Global Crisis*

A wave of mass struggles, often led by youth, is emerging in Western
Europe. In France, school students are demonstrating almost daily and
clash with the police. About 5,000 of them have already been arrested by
the notorious brutal police. These protests take place within the
context of workers struggles against the austerity policy of the Macron
government in which firefighters play a leading role.
