*Leading Israeli Rabbi Condemns Zionism and Advocates Life under Arab Rule*

Israeli media have published remarks of Rabbi Dov Lando in which he
condemns Zionism and says that Jews would be better off if they would
live under Arab rule. Rabbi Lando is not just a rabbi – as the leading
haredi (ultra-Orthodox) Litvak rabbi and spiritual head of the United
Torah Judaism party, he is one of the highest religious authorities of
orthodox Jews. This is even more the case as the haredi (ultra-Orthodox)
Jews are the fastest growing group among Israeli Jews and constitute one
quarter of the Jewish population in the Zionist state.
