Desk tray "connect" fails

Stop the mashup server from the tray.
Result: the icon is still orange.
Select "connect" from the tray.
Result: the icon turns to a blue question mark (why didn't this occur when the
server was initially stopped?)
Result: nothing happens.
Restart the Mashup Server from the Services manager. Select "connect"
Result: no change. Start/Stop etc still disabled.
