IM host object: sending an im to an msn results in service (and tryit) hang

im.disconnect() appears to hang when closing an IM session sending a message to
an offline user. The log shows a user not on-line message, but there doesn't
seem to be a way to tell programmatically whether the message was successfully
sent or not.
