Now that we have the first iteration of the framework in place, I think
it is time to talk about staging servers.
There's little use running a Mashup Server instance on a QA laptop along
with all the other day-to-day applications and using it as a test
environment. The 'read time outs' and similar exceptions thrown might as
well be a result of the lack of at least the minimal resources required
for the server to function.
Since we already have a staging server set up, shall we use this as the
QA environment for performance testing?
+1 to use staging server to setup QA environment for performance testing.
FYI -
The QA scripts for performance test scenarios and environment setup are
ready now. I have deviated a bit from the initial set of scenarios I had
identified earlier. Appreciate if you could review them and let me know
of any change\s required.
I couldn't however do a complete test run with the scripts and come up
with baseline values yet, as it was then I came across these resource
issues in my machine + few defects.
Details of the Perf test frame work:
Scripts could be found in [1].
- 'TestEnv1' folder contains scripts for setting-up the initial test
environment. 'TestEnvironment.txt' will guide you through doing it.
- 'TestScenarios' folder contains scripts for test scenarios.
'Readme.txt' in it contains set-up information for each scenario.
