I don't view this as any different than enabling/disabling transports, which we
don't have an annotation for at present. Maybe we need higher-level
annotations like "sharable" and "requireSecurity".
However, for the case we recently discussed, that of hiding links to
potentially confidential resources, I'm not sure what the solution is. If it's
just the links that must be held private, the author can put them in a data
file in _private and fetch them from there at run time. This prevents the
links (usernames, passwords, etc.) from being viewed or shared along with the
source code.
If the links are to spreadsheets, the links are likely to be in a data service,
which is a different annotation problem.
Can you remind me again why we really need this feature?
