[Mason] mod_perl DSO

The Mason README file says "Don't use Mason with an older mod_perl DSO (dynamic shared object)." What exactly is the definition of "older" here? OpenBSD has mod_perl-1.29 build as a DSO for Apache 1.3.29. Should I be worried about developing Mason on that platform?
